Marceli Upson

Originally from Brazil, Marceli Upson is an influential public relations, marketing expert and entrepreneur. Marceli studied Public Relations at the School of Public Relations (ESURP) in Recife Brazil before beginning her professional career as a medical sales representative for Hexal Corporation, a German pharmaceutical company. Marceli Left Hexal in 2005 and immigrated to the US to live with her American husband. Marceli’s strengths lie in building solid client relationships, creative campaigns, trendsetting within the industry and strategy that scores top media placements.
Since moving to the U.S. Marceli has led various companies such as the Plastic Surgery Center of Fairfield and Atmosphere Design Group. At Atmosphere Design Group Marceli broadened her knowledge of marketing by studying the behavior and culture of the company and its interactions with renowned international fashion companies such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Prada.
Through working with and assisting the Brazilian community, a new passion had awakened in Marceli. This passion led her to open a Facebook group called Brazilian’s in Connecticut. Just in the last year, the group now has more than 2300 active members. Three major social events have been coordinated by Marceli in order to raise money for charity and promote awareness of Women’s Issues. The community benefits greatly from the Brazilian’s in Connecticut group through social and philanthropic activities that are part of the group’s mission. Brazilian’s in Connecticut is now officially a non-profit organization.
Marceli, a graduate of Westchester College, is as passionate about public service as she is about public relations. She volunteers her time and expertise to various civic organizations. Events developed by Marceli educates the community in delicate topics such as domestic violence, human trafficking, healthy living and oral health, preventive treatment of breast cancer and other types of cancer as well as many other hot topics to enrich these wonderful events.
In addition, autonomous Brazilian entrepreneurial micro companies have the opportunity to exhibit and sell their products. Part of the collection from the events is transformed into donations to social projects like CADEF in Recife, which supports children with facial deformities in Brazil.
Currently Marceli has several projects in development, including the fourth event of the Brazilians in CT Group to support the Swim Across the Sound Foundation, which benefits cancer patients undergoing treatment in the state of Connecticut.
Marceli has also started her own Public Relations and Marketing consulting agency called “CeliMedia Inc.” Marceli hopes to continue growing in her journey as a marketing consultant serving the region with what she does best: dedication, hard work, professionalism, entrepreneurship and refinement.
